Bourgmont Winery

Alex is the Director of Wine Operations at Bourgmont Winery. He was raised in Overland Park, Kansas but spent much of his youth on his grandfather’s tree farm in Quincy, Illinois, where his love for botany and plant material began. Having graduated from Blue Valley North High School, he attended William and Mary University in Williamsburg, Virginia. There he studied history, archeology, and paleobotany. He participated in many archeological digs and recreated historical and early 18th century garden sites of our founding fathers. Having finalized his education, he had a brief stint at his family’s wealth management companies, Midwest Trust and FCI Advisors. Following his passion for history, he joined the curatorial staff for the National WW1 Museum at Liberty Memorial. Under his guise, the collection expanded drastically as he worked in tandem with the donor development team. His natural curiosity led him to joining with his brother, Will, in the founding of Bourgmont Winery and Vineyard. Collaborating with Will, he has created a premier environment in the Midwest for wine tasting, experiences and events. The winery has over 14 acres of grapes planted, an orchard of 250 apple trees and 20 pear trees. At Bourgmont Winery, he provides wine education events and offers tours of the production facility to ensure everyone leaves having learned something: mostly he is very passionate about wine!
