Joni Hiatt: Director of Community Development

Joni and her husband Jim are lifelong Johnson County residents who fostered around 135 children over 27 years, retiring their foster care license late 2019. Jim and Joni have three grown daughters, two adopted from foster care and two grandsons. In 2002, Joni joined the Board of Directors for Kansas Foster & Adoptive Children Inc.(KFAC), a foster/adoptive support and advocacy group on the Kansas side. Joni held this Director position up until serving as President of KFAC from 2005 until April of 2014 when the KFAC organization merged with FosterAdopt Connect to grow the services provided across Kansas.  

Joni left her job with the Olathe School District after 18 years, to become the Kansas Director of Programs for FosterAdopt Connect. In May of 2022, Joni became the Director of Community Development.
