Julie is the Executive Director of United Community Services of Johnson County(UCS).  UCS in a nonprofit focused on poverty and health and human service issues impacting Johnson County residents. UCS’ core work is illuminating needs and solutions through education and advocacy, fostering a framework for collaboration through mobilizing and planning, and prioritizing community investments through targeted resource allocation. 

Julie has more than 25years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Prior to coming to Johnson County, Julie was the first Chief Operating Officer of the Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties, a political subdivision located in Omaha Nebraska.  She led the annual giving, endowment and major gifts programs for United Way of the Quad Cities in Iowa/Illinois and provided consulting services to non-profits for more than a decade.  She has also directed public relations, advertising and marketing programs for both nonprofit and private sector organizations.

Julie has served as a CASA volunteer, on the Steering Committee for Forward OP.  She currently serves on Johnson County’s Criminal Justice Advisory Council and Community Corrections Advisory Board, the Blue Valley Educational Foundation Board, Advisory Board of the Greenlight Fund, and the Advisory Board of the KC Regional COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund.

Julie received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism/Public from Northern Illinois University. She and her husband Steve, along with their two daughters moved to Kansas in 2011.
