Johnson County Vaccine Rollout

Larry Botts, MD, serves as Chief Medical Officer of AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. He Joins our weekly meeting to discuss the rollout of the COVID19 Vaccine in Johnson County.

Botts has 27 years experience as a private practice Pulmonary/Critical Care physician in the Kansas City area. He has been a member of the AdventHealth  medical staff during that time.

Botts has served in a number of leadership roles for the medical staff at AdventHealth including Medical Staff President and Credentials Committee Chairman. He is currently an adjunct faculty member for the UMKC Physician’s Assistant Program.

He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska in 1974, and his medical degree in 1979 also from the University of Nebraska. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at the University of Kansa Medical Center in 1984. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary and critical care.

Botts is a fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians, a member of the Society of Critical Care, and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
